HARRISBURG, Ill. (WJPF) — A McLeansboro man is in custody after what Harrisburg Police are calling a lengthy, low-speed pursuit that ended with the discovery of a dead body.

Harrisburg Police say their officers tried to pull over 34-year-old Travis Braden around 3:00 a.m. Sunday. Braden did not stop and a long, slow-speed chase then started. Braden was eventually taken into custody and with Aggravated Fleeing to Elude.

After further investigation, Harrisburg Police say they found the body of a dead man inside a Harrisburg home. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending family notification. The cause of death has not been released either.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.
