WASHINGTON, D.C. (WJPF) — The Christmas Tree chosen to be decorated and displayed outside the U.S. Capitol Building is scheduled to travel through southern Illinois Monday.
The tree, hauled by tractor-trailer with a police escort, is making its way to Washington D.C. from Colorado.
Illinois State Police say the tree will travel on interstates 64, 57, and 24 before exiting into Kentucky. The tree is not scheduled to make a stop in southern Illinois.
