MT. VERNON, Ill. (WJPF) — A fifth person has been arrested and charged in connection to the September murder of an Olney man.

Misty Whipple, 43, of Mt. Vernon was arrested late last week on one count of Aiding a Fugitive.

Illinois State Police say Whipple helped Rick Meador run from the police by renting a van which he took to Florida. Meador, along with a 16-year-old girl, were taken into custody in Florida last month.

Kyle Johnson, 19, was shot to death on September 6 in Olney. Rick Meador has been charged with First Degree Murder.

A motive for the killing has not been released
