CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Carbondale Police are investigating after a jogger was attacked and robbed.

It happened around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of South Logan Avenue. That’s in an area just south of a Save-A-Lot grocery store and a Circle-K gas station.

According to Carbondale Police, the suspect tackled the jogger to the ground, assaulted them, and stole their property. The jogger was treated for a minor injury. The property was later recovered.

The suspect is described by police as a light complected black male standing about 6’2″ tall. He wore a blue face covering, a black tank top and shorts.
