MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WJPF) — An ordinance requiring facial coverings is now in effect in Murphysboro.

Passing the city council on a 7 – 3 vote, the ordinance requires a mask in public places where social distancing cannot be achieved.

Repeated refusals to where a mask could result in fines.
