MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WJPF) — A Carbondale man will spend the next 15 years behind bars for firing a gun at police.
Eric Brown, 37, pleaded guilty to aggravated discharge of a firearm.
Prosecutors say that in May 2019, Brown was in the custody of the Carbondale Police, and being processed inside the police station, when he took out a gun he had hidden in his waistband, pointed it at police, and fired.
No one was hurt. After three hours of negotiations, Brown turned the gun over to police.
