VIENNA, Ill. (WJPF) — A Johnson County man has been convicted in the 2015 shooting death of his father.

Dennis Schapmire, 41, was found guilty of First Degree Murder.

Prosecutors say he killed his father, Nicholas Schapmire, with a .357 handgun.

Sentencing is scheduled for mid-September. Schapmire faces up to life in prison.
