SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WJPF) — A graduate of SIU-Carbondale has been appointed by Governor JB Pritzker to the Illinois Employment Security Board.

Pat Devaney is the current Secretary-Treasurer of the Illinois AFL-CIO and President of the Association of Fire Fighters of Illinois.

He’s also currently a Captain in the City of Champaign Fire Department.

Devaney attended SIU from 1989 – 1994.

His appointment is pending senate approval.
