CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — A deployment ceremony will be held in honor of roughly 400 Illinois National Guard soldiers Tuesday afternoon in Carbondale.
Following the ceremony at the Banterra Center, the men and and women of the Second Battalion, 130th Infantry Regiment will be heading to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
Governor JB Pritzker is scheduled to deliver the ceremony’s opening remarks.
The deployment ceremony is scheduled to start at 2:00 PM.
