Our Ever-After Bridal Fair 2019 is quickly approaching, and as a Public Service to everyone planning a wedding, I decided to share some of my wedding ceremony/reception advice. I’ve played piano for many ceremonies throughout Southern Illinois, and I’ve DJ’d several receptions as well. Here are a few things that I’ve observed working well, and working… not so well.
Don’t get me wrong, outdoor weddings are great! When the heat index isn’t 105 degrees! I’ve been at outdoor weddings where it’s been so hot that women’s makeup begins melting off their faces! If you’re getting married in late June/July/August, think about the possibility of having an indoor wedding. Think about it. Sure, the outdoor weddings are beautiful, but is it worth it to have someone carted off on a stretcher with heat exhaustion? Somethin’ to think about. If you do decided to have an outdoor wedding in the summer, in Southern Illinois, plan on a short ceremony. You will be wearing formal wear, not shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops. And your guests will be dressed up as well. Armpit sweat, back seat, forehead sweat, it’s all gonna be a factor with the outdoor wedding in the summer! AND, you MUST HAVE a PLAN B! If severe weather moves in, you’ve got to have a dry place to hold your ceremony! Want some more tips for your big day? CLICK HERE! And, be sure to join us at the Pavilion at the City of Marion THIS SUNDAY from noon to 5pm for our Ever After Bridal Fair 2019!
