MURPHYSBORO, IL. (WJPF) – Prosecutors say they now plan to drop charges against Gaege Bethune.

The Eldorado man was convicted in June for the murder of Pravin Varughese. In September, the conviction was thrown out due to possible confusing wording in the indictment.

Prosecutors says their current case has no way forward after that September ruling.

It’s unknown if new charges against Bethune will be filed.
