The preliminary results of a special audit of the Saline County Clerk’s office shows evidence of possible mismanagement.

The report says that between 2015 and 2017 over $1 million dollars were unnecessarily spent and evidence of mismanagement, waste and abuse were found.

The audit was ordered in September of last year, the result of an ongoing dispute between County Clerk Kim Buchanan and members of the Saline County Board. Buchanan has denied any wrong doing.
