Illinois State Police have released more information about a fatal car crash that happened Saturday in Herrin.

Police say 31-year-old Ashley Beck was being chased by Herrin Police when she hit another vehicle driven by 26-year-old Amber Mitchell at the intersection of 13TH Street and East Herrin Road.

Beck was pronounced dead at the scene. Mitchell died later at Herrin Hospital. An 11-month-old in in Mitchell’s vehicle was taken to the hospital for treatment and has since been released.

Illinois State Police continue to investigate the incident.
