Governor Bruce Rauner says his recent trade mission to Israel was a success.

The goal of the trip was to foster relations with Israel, expand business opportunities and attract investors to Illinois. Governor Rauner says he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that they discussed economic strategy.

University of Illinois officials were also on the trip and met with schools in Israel.

They pledged to work together on research projects and discussed more exchange student and faculty opportunities.
