The house and senate approved a new sexual harassment training program Tuesday.

The measure requires the legislature, their staffers and lobbyists to learn about what constitutes harassment, how to report harassment and what the penalties are for violating ethics rules.

The training would begin in 2018.

The bill also adds a specific ban on sexual harassment to the general assembly’s ethics code and imposes an up to five thousand dollar fine on violators.
