McDonald's dumps Heinz ketchup!

What the heck!?

McDonald's announced recently it will begin phasing out Heinz ketchup from all of their stores.  Is this craziness or what?  Here's the official statement:

“We value the relationship we’ve maintained with Heinz for more than 40 years. As a result of recent management changes at Heinz, we have decided to transition our business to other suppliers over time. We have spoken to Heinz and plan to work together to ensure a smooth and orderly transition of the McDonald’s restaurant business, and are confident that there will be no impact to our business, our customers and our great tasting food at McDonald’s.”

So... is Heinz the best ketchup ever?  Is McDonald's making a mistake?  Or will people even notice?

Georgia man rescues his beer from burning home!
Walter Serpit and his family were in the living room of their Columbus, Georgia, home when smoke began pouring in.

Everyone made it outside safely − but Walter, using his cane, went back for what really mattered ... his beer.

"I told them to get the kids out and everything, and me myself, being an alcoholic, I was trying to get my beer out," Serpit said. "You feel me?"

The American Red Cross is helping the family get back on their feet and relocated.

After your family is safe, is there anything you would run back into a burning house to try and save?

Spanking leads to behavior problems?
This researcer believes that spanking a 5-year old will lead to behavior problems in school.  According to her research, kids spanked as 5-year olds were more likely to create problems for teachers later in elementary school.

What do you think?  I was spanked as a kid and turned out pretty good.  (quit laughing)  I think it depends on the child.  Later on, all my mom had to do was look at me, and I would straighten up pretty quick.  -kZ

World's Dumbest Bank Robber? You Decide.
From the list of What not to Google search comes "if you're going to rob a bank" and "what happens if you rob a bank".  That's exactly what police in Weyworth, Mass found when they entered Sarah McLoud's home, 5 hours after she and a friend robbed a bank.

Ms. McLoud and and her accomplice Robert Owens were arrested on the spot as police were able to identify the cash taken from the bank they robbed, the clothes she was wearing during the robbery, AND the ridiculous recent Google searches.

To top it off, police found heroin packaged for sale next to the same computer she had been performing the world's dumbest criminal Google searches on.

Sarah McLoud, you've been awarded the dumbest criminal of the day award.

Burglars find Fireworks in a Safe!
Just in case you thought you were having a bad day, week, month, or year - just imagine how bad it was to be these two burglars.

In life, we often make good choices and bad choices.  These two burglars made a bad choice that cost them their lives.  Lucas Bourke and Ethan Keeler, both 21 made the mistake of trying to cut in to a 4 foot concrete-lined safe during the course of their burglary.

What Lucas and Ethan didn't know, is this safe contained fireworks.  Once they cut through the safe, it ignited the fireworks inside - causing an explosion.  The blast was powerful enough to launch the safe through the building, as it was found outside!  Unfortunately for these two greedy theives, their lives were cut short for the choices they made.

Decide Who to Marry - A Child's Perspective
Bill Cosby nailed it with "Kid's say the Darndest Things".  Often times their responses to serious questions can make you think, "Are they right?" or even better "WHOA! I would never say that.".  As we get older we develop a filter, well some of us anyway.

Daily News Dig asked a group of children questions to help figure out "How do you decide who to Marry" and these are some of our favorite responses.  The full version is linked below.

What is the right age to get married?

" No age is good to get married at.  You got to be a fool to get married.
- Freddie, age 6 (very wise for his age) "

How can a stranger tell if two people are married?

" You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids.
-Derrick, age 8 "

What do most people do on a date?
" On the first date, they just tell each other lies and that Usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date.
- Martin, age 10 " - A lot of truth to that one.

What would you do on a first date that was turning sour?

" I’d run home and play dead. The next day I would call all the newspapers and make sure they wrote about me in all the dead columns.
-Craig, age 9 "

Is it better to be single or married?

It’s better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them.
- Anita, age 9 "

How would you make a marriage work?

Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a truck.
- Ricky, age 10 "

Bikers ran over by SUV in New York - Video
So...this has been in the news for several days now, and we're curious as to what you think about it.

As this story develops we've found that two arrests have been made so far, neither of those have been the driver of the SUV.  Charges have been dropped against one of the two motorcyclists arrested.

The man in the SUV(Alexian Lien) was joined by his wife and daughter in the vehicle for a Sunday afternoon drive.  They were then surrounded by dozens of motorcycles participating in "Hollywood Stuntz" motorcycle ride.  As one motorcycle operator slowed to block traffic, Mr. Lien BUMPED his motorcycle.

Several other motorcycles at this point stopped and blocked Mr. Lien's vehicle in - feeling threated, Alexian Lien rammed through several motorcycles to escape, running over a few.

One motorcyclist, Edwin Mieses, is now in paralyzed and in a coma.  Mr. Lien was chased down by several of the other members of this motorcycle group and pulled from his car and beaten and cut, he was later treated and released from the hospital.

Below is the video of the altercation, let us know what YOU think about this.  Would you have done the same?
